Woburn Safari Park opened in 1970 and was the second Safari park to open after Longleat in the UK. There is a vast area of ground to watch the animals roam freely and due to this there are many interesting and exotic jungle and plains animals to see from your car. Some of the animals are easily seen and some more shy so keep your eyes peeled.... Just mind the mischevious monkeys and your car aerials and mirrors.
Today it is an award winning attraction which makes a valuable contribution to conservation. Most of all, it is a place where families can enjoy being together and seeing animals in a beautiful environment.
Woburn has been highly successful raising money for various European Association of Zoos and Aquaria campaigns and continues currently to do more.
Woburn manages the European breeding programme for the bongo, which is one of the rarest African mammals kept in zoos and safari parks.
